Seventeen Novembers in the same canyon
For the past 16 years, we’ve had 120–136 brothers from all around the country come together for this special tournament. What started as a golf outing has become a wonderful tradition and a great opportunity to enjoy some excellent association, good food, and, of course, some great golf!
One of the things that makes this tournament so enjoyable is the mix of golfers who participate. We have everything from scratch golfers and low handicappers to those of us who are still trying to figure out where that little white ball is going!
No matter your handicap or skill level, everyone is welcomed, included, and able to enjoy the day. It’s the brotherhood, the laughs, and the time together that make this tournament so special.
The course · 1920
Oil man Alphonso Bell bought the canyon in the La Puente Hills and hired William Watson, the architect behind the Olympic Club and Harding Park. Eighteen holes by 1923. Tiger Woods shot 62 here as an amateur in 1994.
The tournament · 2010
Scramble, three flights, 10:30 shotgun. Box lunch on the way out, dinner and awards in the clubhouse. $295 a player, and every dollar of it is the day.
